Table lamps: what to look for

First decide what the lamp is for. A bedside or living-room lamp gives soft, warm light, so a shade and a warm white bulb of about 2700 K work well. A desk lamp needs more light aimed at your work, often with an adjustable arm or head.

Check the fitting (E27, E14 or built-in LED) and whether the bulb is included. A dimmer or a touch switch makes one lamp do more. Cordless battery lamps go anywhere, also outside on the terrace; then look at the protection rating (IP44 is splash-proof).

Lampfee compares each lamp per version and colour with the prices of different shops. We sell nothing ourselves: you order from the shop.
